Switzerland will give another Tk 90 crore to Bangladesh to deal with Corona

Switzerland has promised to give another 96 lakh Swiss francs (Tk 90 crore) to Bangladesh to fight the Corona epidemic. The country has said it will pay for the corona outbreak. A statement from the Swiss embassy said on Thursday.

The statement said that with the additional funds, Switzerland seeks to strengthen co-operation and sociology-economic stability in preventing the spread of corona to the local population. To this end, the country will work with national and international partners and in close cooperation with Bangladesh.Since the outbreak of the epidemic in Bangladesh in April last year, Switzerland has provided more than 20 million Swiss francs (Rs 160 crore) to more than 20 projects in Bangladesh.

The statement added that in collaboration with Switzerland, about 1.5 million people have so far been sensitized and trained on hygiene. One million people have received medicine services for advanced treatment of covid-19. One lakh 30 thousand slum dwellers have received health care. 60,000 people have got the benefit of hand washing.In addition, 115,000 people received cash assistance and 60,000 received food or vitamins. In addition, four helplines have been set up to provide psychological and legal assistance to those who have experienced gender-based violence.
