                             Healthy Apple Oatmeal Cookies

Ø  Prep time: 8 Minutes

Ø  Cook time: 15 Minutes

Ø  Total time: 23 Minutes

Ingredients

·         2 ripe bananas, mashed

·         1/4 cup of pure maple syrup

·         2/3 cup of unsweetened almond butter

·         2 cups of rolled oats

·         1 ½ tsp ground cinnamon

·         1 tsp sea salt

Instructions

1.   A large baking sheet should be lined with parchment paper and preheated to 375 degrees Fahrenheit before you begin.

2.      Then, in a separate dish, mash the bananas until smooth.

3.    Once the almond butter and pure maple syrup have melted, stir them until completely incorporated. To remedy cold and hard almond butter (instead of being unmixed), heat it in the microwave for 20 to 30 seconds.

4.      Fourth, combine the rolled oats, cinnamon powder, and salt (dry ingredients).

5.    Stir in the fresh apple dice after everything else has been thoroughly mixed. As an alternative to chopped apples, you may instead use grated apples.

6.      Form dough into balls, then place them on the Prepared baking pans. The size of the Cookie dough balls is up to you. I bake 7 giant Cookies. Oatmeal Cookie dough will only spread a little after it is placed on a baking sheet.

7.    Bake the dish for 10 to 15 Minutes in the center of the preheated oven. If the Cookies are small, bake them for 10-12 Minutes. If they're big, bake them for 13-15 Minutes.

8.   Take the Cookies to the Cookie sheet with a spatula once they have cooled thoroughly on the baking sheet.

Notes

1.      If you don't like the taste of ripe bananas, you can substitute 2/3 cup of unsweetened applesauce instead.

2.     You can keep any extra Cookies in the fridge for up to 7 days if you place them in an airtight container. If you don't live somewhere extremely hot and humid, you can leave them out of the fridge for up to three days. You can freeze these Cookies without sacrificing their flavor. They can be frozen for up to three months if you place them in a gallon-sized freezer bag.
